Carousel Design for Saves as a Paid Deliverable

The Product Insider6 min read

A finance creator in Dubai pitched a UAE bank a Reel package at 6,000 AED and got ghosted. She came back with one carousel at 2,500 AED. The bank booked it, then booked three more. Carousels in 2026 are the format brands quietly want, because the save rate is 3 to 4x a Reel and the dwell time runs 18 to 35 seconds. UAE creators are leaving them off rate cards and losing the recurring work.

Why carousels save more than any other format

Saves happen when someone wants to come back to the post. Reels are watched once. Posts are double-tapped. Carousels are studied. Each slide is a reason to stay, and the cumulative dwell time signals to the algorithm that the post is reference content. Reference content gets resurfaced in Explore for 30 to 90 days, which is why a single carousel often outperforms a Reel over a quarter, even if the Reel wins on day one.

The slide-by-slide structure

A converting carousel is 7 to 10 slides. Slide one is the hook with a visible "swipe" cue. Slide two pays off the hook fast so people commit. Slides three through eight are the value, one idea per slide, no exceptions. Slide nine is the brand integration, where the product fits into the framework you just built. Slide ten is the save and share CTA. Brands like this structure because their product appears late, after trust is built, and saves go up because the value is portable.

  • Slide 1: hook plus a small swipe arrow in the corner.
  • Slide 2: the answer or framework promise paid off in one sentence.
  • Slides 3-8: one idea per slide, headline plus three lines of body.
  • Slide 9: brand integration, product as the example, not the subject.
  • Slide 10: "save this for later" plus a question to drive comments.

Design rules that work on a UAE feed

Use two fonts maximum. Headline at 80 to 110 points, body at 38 to 48 points, on a 1080x1350 canvas. Background colours that survive both light and dark mode are off-white (FAFAF7) and a deep ink blue (1A2238). Avoid pure white because it blows out on iPhone OLED displays in dark mode. If you are running Arabic copy alongside English, set the Arabic 10 percent larger than the English to balance optical weight, and align right.

Pricing carousels in the UAE in 2026

A carousel with original photography for a brand under 50k followers is fairly priced at 1,800 to 2,800 AED. Stock or brand-supplied imagery brings it down to 1,200 to 1,800. At 100k+ followers, original carousel posts are routinely billing 4,500 to 7,500 AED in beauty, finance, and parenting verticals. The reason these prices hold is the long tail. Brands quoting CPM over 90 days see carousels beat Reels on cost per engaged user.

Sell carousels as part of a 30-day report package. Quote the post fee, then a 200 AED reporting fee at day 30, day 60, and day 90. Brands love the data and you bank predictable monthly income.

The biggest mistake UAE creators make on paid carousels is putting the brand on slide one. The brand should never be on slide one of a carousel. The brand appears in the second half, after the value is delivered, because the value is what gets the post saved and shared. A saved post with the brand on slide nine still works for the brand. A post with the brand on slide one stops being saved at all.

List carousels as a separate line item on your storefront, with sample slides and a fixed price brands can buy without a call.
